Are you ready for Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) I – BIO210?

In a typical BIO210 class 50% of the students complete the course with a grade of C or higher.  A successful student will need the following skills:

  • Reading
  • Study skills and study time
  • Basic understanding of scientific terminology
  • Basic math using decimals, fractions, and percents
  • Ability to read tables, graphs, charts

Students can also utilize the accompanying online program to get ready for A&P.

Students registering for BIO210 without any previous science courses should be prepared for a 200 level science course.  It is in the student’s best interest to have completed ENG101 and MAT102.

An introductory A&P course will help prepare students for BIO210.  BIO110 provides a basic introduction to human biology without a lab component.  Not only will BIO110 students learn about body systems and processes but they will also learn how to read and study for a science class. BIO112 provides an excellent overview of all of the body systems which will be covered in greater detail in BIO210 & BIO211.  BIO112 is a 4 credit course with a lab component.  There are many similar lab exercises which will prepare students for BIO210 & 211 labs.

  • BIO110 (3 credit course) is the science department recommended preparation course for BIO210.
  • BIO112 (4 credit course) is a more rigorous course and will certainly prepare students for BIO210. Including lab, students will be spending approximately 6 hours a week in class.
  • Some successful students have progressed from BIO110ŕBIO112ŕBIO210
  • Students who have taken BIO101 or CHM100 or CHM105 are generally better prepared than those who have not taken a previous science course.
